| Welcome to IHFS
The mission of Immokalee Housing & Family Services is to provide decent, safe and affordable rental housing with supportive social and educational services for farmworkers and other low-income families.

IHFS was formed in 1985 with the dream that even the poorest of farmworkers need and deserve decent and affordable places to live and raise their families. In 1992, IHFS completed the development of Sanders Pines, an apartment community that includes nine buildings with 41 housing units, two playgrounds and a community garden. In 1995, IHFS completed construction of 34 single family rental homes in the nearby Timber Ridge development. In addition to rental housing, IHFS provides supportive social and educational services to its residents, as well as those in the surrounding Eden Park neighborhood. These programs are conducted in the Carl J. Kuehner Community Center at Timber Ridge, construction of which was completed in 2008. IHFS is currently engaged in a project to develop 176 multi-family rental units in a new neighborhood of Immokalee called Esperanza Place. The first apartments at Esperanza Place are expected to be completed in late 2010.
As IHFS prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary, we are introducing a new name that better reflects our unique role in the community, IMMOKALEE HOUSING & FAMILY SERVICES.As we look to the future, we do so with the hope that you will join us in providing

IHFS is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that depends on rental income for its basic operations, the management and upkeep of the 75 rental units. Funds for the social and educational programs must be raised through contributions and grants. IHFS does not receive any form of government rental assistance.
