The Carl J. Kuehner Community Center at Timber Ridge

The Carl J. Kuehner Community Community Center at Timber Ridge opened its doors in December 2008 following three years of planning and development activities. The center was named in honor of Carl J. Kuehner who led the development of IHFS with dedication and vision for much of its existence.

The new 4,500 square foot Center is an extensive rehabilitation and expansion of the former residence that had been used for IHFS educational and social programs for the residents of Sanders Pines, Timber Ridge and the surrounding Eden Park community for the past thirteen years.

The building has a large multipurpose room, four classrooms, a computer training room, two offices and an outdoor enclosed courtyard. The community center is also the site of a new community playground for children ages 5-12.

Our Needs for the Community Center (top)

The generous awards and grant funds provided by the County and private donors were sufficient to complete the building, however, a great deal more is needed to furnish and equip the Center. IHFS’s needs include the following:

• DVDs
• Overhead TV Projector
• Kitchen Supplies
• Office Furniture
• Classroom Supplies
• PC Computers & Printers
• Office equipment & Supplies
• Stereo sound equipment

Donations of equipment and furnishings will be greatly appreciated. It is easy to do. Please call Sheryl Soukup at (239) 657-8333, or simply click on the “Donate” button at the bottom of this page.

Naming Opportunities(top)

IHFS has identified a number of naming opportunities for our most generous donors. Each of the major rooms will be available to be named in honor of individual or organizational donors giving $10,000 or more.

Plaques commemorating these generous contributions will be mounted in the individual rooms for all to see, as well as on a central Honor Board which will be located at the entrance to the building.

Please contact Sheryl Soukup at (239) 657-8333 to discuss specific naming opportunities.
